Two women charged in Oshawa drug trafficking bust

Two women from Oshawa are up on drug charges after a bust Wednesday in the city’s downtown core.

A concerned citizen called the police on May 4 to report people they suspected of dealing drugs. Durham Regional Police sent out officers with the Community Response Team who say they found two women selling  narcotics.

Sarah Longbottom, 33 of Oshawa, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking a schedule one substance and Mary Steele, also 33 of Oshawa, is charged with two counts of possession of a schedule one substance.

Police did not specify which drugs they allege were being sold.

Longbottom was will remain in custody until a bail hearing while Steele has been released with conditions.
