A crash involving two transport trucks on Highway 401 Thursday left one person dead, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that at around 5:40 p.m., Middlesex County OPP officers, paramedics, and firefighters responded to the scene in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in London.
The driver of one of the trucks was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
They were later pronounced dead.
OPP said the driver and passenger of the second vehicle were not injured.
The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed between Highbury Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway for several hours after the crash.
There’s no word on the cause.
“Updates will be provided when they become available,” OPP said.
