Hamilton Police have arrested two 17-year-old males following an incident in which a firearm was allegedly aimed at a cab driver.

Shortly before 7:00 p.m. yesterday (May 31), police were called to investigate reports of individuals in possession of a firearm near Charlton Ave. W. and Bay St. S.

Upon arrival, authorities received information that two males had exited a taxi, flaunted a firearm, and entered a nearby residence.

Police say they were able to locate the youth and confiscate the firearm.

One of the accused is now facing charges that include unauthorized possession of a firearm, failure to comply with a release order (other than attending court), knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm and more.

Police also discovered that the first male was previously under release conditions that specifically forbade him from having any firearms or weapons in his possession.

The second individual, also a 17-year-old male from Hamilton, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Hamilton Police are urging anyone with information to contact Acting Detective Sergeant Brad Clark at 905-546-3833.
