Multiple criminal charges have been laid against two Toronto teens, including a 14-year-old boy, in connection with a pair of recent armed robberies in Mississauga and Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say the most recent incident occurred this past Monday (June 26) at an automotive diagnostic equipment store at Dixie Rd. and Dundas St. in Mississauga’s east end.

According to police, three individuals, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and stole electronic equipment specifically intended for future vehicle thefts.

Staff and others in the store during the incident did not sustain any injuries, police said.

Following an investigation, police located and arrested two suspects in Toronto on Tuesday. A third suspect has not yet been located.

Police also seized a replica firearm believed to have been used in the robbery.

A 17-year-old boy and 14-year old boy, both of Toronto, are facing multiple charges including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, using an imitation firearm and obstructing a peace officer.

Investigators suspect that the 14-year-old may have been involved in another robbery that occurred on June 9 at an electronics store in Brampton.

In that incident, police say, three people armed with knives and a baton robbed the store of a significant amount of electronic devices before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of those charged cannot be revealed.

The investigation continues and police say other charges may be laid.

Anyone with information about either incident is urged to call police at 905-453-2121 or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
