Two suspects wanted for stealing $5000 in cash from a bag at a Welland Walmart

Niagara Regional Police are in pursuit of two women linked to an alleged theft of  over $5,000 found in a bag inadvertently left by a customer at a Walmart in Niagara last month.

On Nov. 23  around 7 p.m., authorities say an individual entered the Welland location Walmart store intending to purchase items. Upon entering, he set a bag down, which held over $5000 in cash.

Police say, the man mistakenly walked away from the bag. Within minutes he realized what had happened and returned, only to find the bag was gone.

According to investigators, video surveillance footage revealed that two women found the forgotten bag.

After examining its contents, they took the bag.

Subsequently, its alleged that they used the cash to make multiple purchases before exiting the store.

The accused were observed leaving the area in a white Toyota Camry, with the license plate information currently unknown.

Police describe the first suspect being 5-foot-3 tall with an approximate age of 50-years-old. She has a tan complexion and was wearing a maroon winter jacket, blue jeans, black and white shoes, yellow toque and yellow scarf.

The second suspect is also described as being 5-foot-3 in height with an approximate age of 20-years-old. She has a tan complexion and her hair was tied in a bun. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a purple winter jacket, black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black and white shoes.
