Two suspects – one of them armed – are on the run after a failed robbery attempt at a Fort Erie home yesterday (Oct. 18).

Niagara Police say that the two men forced their way into a home in the Courtwright St. and Central Ave. area at 6:25 a.m., demanding that the victim give them “personal belongings.”

The victim, who was known to the armed suspect, fought back and a shot was fired. However, it missed the victim though the struggle resulted in some injuries. He was nonetheless quickly shuttled to an area hospital to get checked out.

The known suspect has been identified as Shawn Leonard George-Isaacs, 23, of no fixed address who is now wanted for one count of robbery with a firearm. Niagara Police warn that he is armed and considered dangerous. They’re asking the public not to approach him but to call 9-1-1 immediately if he is spotted.

The unknown suspect is described as a Black male in his early 20s, roughly 5-foor-11 to 6-feet tall, average build with black hair in dreadlocks, wearing a red sweater and dark pants.

Area residences are encouraged to review their surveillance footage.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009705.
