Two seriously injured after stolen taxi hits police cruiser in Pickering

An early morning collision on Saturday (Apr. 16) has injured two people in Pickering, including a police officer.

At around 5:00 a.m., Durham police say a parked police vehicle was struck by a stolen taxi at Concession Rd 9 and Westney Rd N.

The officer suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, who has not been identified at this time, was also seriously injured and has been airlifted to a trauma centre.

The investigation into this incident, as well as the stolen vehicle, is ongoing.
