More QEW lane closures in Mississauga will impact traffic

Two lanes on the QEW in Mississauga will shut down to traffic each night/overnight for the next three weeks as work continues on the highway bridge over the Credit River.

A pair of eastbound lanes from Erin Mills Parkway to the Credit River Bridge will be impacted by the weekly Sunday to Thursday night closures until Oct. 6, according to officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project overseeing the major bridge rehabilitation work.

The lanes will be closed to traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings. Lane 1 will be closed from 10 p.m. each night while Lane 2 will shut down at 10:30 p.m. each night.

Meanwhile, drivers are reminded that other temporary closures both on the QEW (lanes and ramps) and on nearby roads are in effect as well.

Temporary nighttime/overnight closures have been commonplace since 2022 both on the QEW and nearby roads due to the massive project that began two years ago.

More traffic disruptions are anticipated as work continues in the coming months. Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario Street to Mississauga Road is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
