Two people killed in crash near Orangeville

Two people have died after a crash near Orangeville on Tuesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the collision, involving two passenger vehicles, on County Road 109, near Grandview Road in the Township of Amaranth, near Grand Valley, at approximately 10:45 p.m. on June 16, the Ontario Provincial Police said.

Grand Valley is in Dufferin County, approximately 15 kilometres west of Orangeville.

A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman from Grand Valley were pronounced dead at the scene, the OPP said. Another male was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, police said.

The OPP said County Road 109, between County Road 24 and 9th Line, was closed for several hours while the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team assisted with the investigation. The road has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
