Two Ontario restaurants robbed of cash at knifepoint

Restaurants in Whitby and Pickering were robbed at knifepoint last week, with both incidents involving a suspect threatening employees with a knife before stealing cash.

Police responded to an armed robbery at the Little Caesars restaurant on Dundas Street in Whitby on Sunday evening, just after 7 p.m. Police said a man, described as Black, 6’2”-6’3” with a medium build, entered the business and threatened employees with a knife while demanding cash from the register. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Three days earlier police responded to a similar incident at the B Boyz restaurant on Brock Road in Pickering. The suspect, described only as Black with a medium build, entered the restaurant at 10:40 p.m. and made threats with a knife toward an employee while demanding cash. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

No employees suffered any physical injuries in either crime.

Anyone who was in the areas around the time of the incidents who has cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information is asked to contact the Auto Robbery Crime Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5355.
