You might want to put these two Oakville restaurants on the list of places to take your mom for brunch this Mother’s Day.

Harpers Landing and Beertown Public House have both made this year’s OpenTable list of the Top 100 Brunch Spots in Canada.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner on Sunday, May 8 it’s time to start planning where to take mom to thank her for all the cleaning up she has done after you and of course the overwhelming love she has provided you with every day.

Whether mom is a sweet brunch person, a savory brunch person, the OpenTable list of Top 100 brunch spots has something for every one.

OpenTable looked at reviews from real diners to pull together this list of the best daytime dining spots, just in time for spring celebrations.

Since it opened in 2013, Harpers Landing, located at 481 Cornwall Rd., has become a popular community hub for all ages and occasions

The stunning floor to ceiling windows on three sides along with the comfortable leather booths, ample space and patios facing south and west have created a welcoming ambiance for diners.

There’s no shortage of wines to choose from with 18 wines by the glass. Beer lovers have an extensive selection of local and imported beers available or there’s a variety of cocktails if that’s your pleasure.

There’s no shortage of tasty food options to choose from. From popular starters like the charcuterie board, trio dip or Korean cauliflower to main dishes like the truffle mushroom risotto, braised lamb shank and steak and shrimp there’s something for everyone.

“As always, Harper’s Landing did not disappoint,” one review on OpenTable reads. “Our waiter James was very attentive, on top of our needs at all times. We were sharing two dishes and they divided the dishes for us. Made it easy. Presentation was great and food very good.

“When James learned it was my friend’s birthday, he brought out the most delicious sticky toffee pudding for us to share. It was outstanding and a special surprise. The manager checked on how we were enjoying our lunch. Nice touch. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!”

The so-called leaders in the craft beer revolution, the first Beertown opened in 2009 in Guelph and now has locations in Waterloo, Barrie, London, Cambridge, Burlington and Toronto, as well as Oakville.

The modern beer bar offers a friendly environment and a scratch-cooked meal prepared by culinary brigade led by notable Chef Todd Clarmo.

That’s paired with selections from their curated beer and beverage list.

Popular brunch items include a variety of options including rancheros brunch bowl, chicken and waffles and barbecued brisket hash.

“Best experience,” said one review on OpenTable. “Love your vacation. Sabrina was the best.”
