Two Oakville men, Brampton man facing charges after $450,000 in drugs, guns seized in Thunder Bay

Two Oakville men and a Brampton man are among five people who were charged as part of a major drug bust in Thunder Bay on Thursday (May 11).

The five suspects were arrested after the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit seized drugs and guns valued at more than $450,000 following an investigation into drug trafficking activity.

Members of the Intelligence Unit obtained search warrants for residential addresses in the 900 block of Simpson St. and zero-to-100 block of College St. Both warrants were obtained as part of the ongoing investigation into drug trafficking at those addresses.

After a warrant was conducted at the College St. address at around 6:35 p.m. followed by another carried out at 7:10 p.m. on Simpson St., five suspects were taken into custody.

As a result of the search at the College St. residence, police located and seized a loaded handgun, cash, a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, suspected Xanax pills and Oxycodone pills.

At the search of the Simpson Street home, police located and seized a loaded handgun, an extended magazine, a significant quantity of cocaine and fentanyl, and cash.

The estimated street value of drugs seized totals nearly $370,000. Cash seized totals more than $103,000.
