Two Niagara Falls men charged after police find nearly $13,000 in drugs

A search warrant on a Niagara Falls house saw police seize a significant amount of illegal drugs and cash.

During April, Niagara Police were investigating a home in the Culp Street and Franklin Avenue area before getting a search warrant on April 12.

During the search, officers fund 10.3 grams of fentanyl, 3.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 1,660 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value is $12,880.

They also seized $6,000 worth of power tools that they believe were stolen and over $15,000 believed to be crime cash.

One suspect was arrested inside the house while the other was arrested nearby at the intersection of Main Street and Ferry Street.

John Hicks, 47, of Niagara Falls is charged with three separate counts of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of crime cash over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Na’El Almahshi, 36, also of Niagara Falls is charged with one count of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Both men were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the courthouse in St. Catharines on June 16.
