Durham Region is down to just two new cases of Covid-19 yesterday after spiking at 21 on Friday, the highest total in months.

Ajax, which had been Durham’s hotspot for much of the pandemic, was Covid-free yesterday.

All of the new cases are home self-isolating, meaning local hospitals are once again free of the virus.

Nearly 900,000 people have been administered at least one dose of the vaccine. Just under 77 per cent of all residents 12 and over have received at least a single dose and 67.6 per cent are fully vaccinated.
