Update: Shortly after 2 p.m., Peel Regional Police said the hold-and-secure orders at both schools had been lifted, but the investigation continues. Police have not located any suspects.
Two schools in west Mississauga are in partial lockdown after police received a call of a person with weapons at a nearby plaza.
Erindale Secondary School and Saint-Jean Baptiste Catholic Elementary School are in hold-and-secure mode after the weapons call at an Erin Mills Pkwy./South Millway plaza was received just after noon today (April 25).
Peel Regional Police say there were “reports of someone with possible weapons at a plaza.”
There are no injuries and police are checking the area.
Erindale Secondary School is located at the corner of Erin Mills Pkwy. and Dundas St. W.
Saint-Jean Baptiste Catholic Elementary School is located on Broad Hollow Gate, just northeast of the high school.
Hold-and-secure mode means the schools have been closed to visitors, but students can still move from class to class.
