Two Mississauga intersections affected by collisions at Monday rush hour

Peel Regional Police are advising drivers to steer clear of two areas of Mississauga after rush-hour drivers struck a male pedestrian and a child on a bicycle late Monday afternoon.
At 4:39 p.m., PRP was alerted that a vehicle had struck a man who was walking at Maingate Drive and Eglinton Avenue. All westbound lanes are closed. The pedestrian has serious injuries and was being transported to trauma center. The PRP are asking drivers to take alternate routes.

Minutes earlier, another car struck a childon a bicycle at Winston Churchill Boulvevard and Frankston Road in Mississauga. The child was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, whose vehicle was the only one involved in the collision, remained on the scene.
