Three people are facing charges after police seized two loaded firearms in Mississauga this past weekend.

At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of HER Nightclub near Eglinton/Dixie.

“During the investigation, the occupants were allegedly found in possession of loaded firearms and were subsequently arrested,” said police.

Police arrested 21 year old Waterloo woman Chante Franklin, 19 year old Brampton man Eleijah-Keashaun Robinson, and Kevin Oware, a 20 year old man of an unknown address.

They are each charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (2 counts)
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized

Robinson is also charged with obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order. A Canada-wide arrest was issued for Robinson in May 2020 after a Toronto shooting killed a rap artist and injured two others.

All three were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
