Two men charged after multiple weapons used in Saturday night fight in Oshawa

Durham Police have charged two men after an altercation in Oshawa on Saturday night involving a knife, a taser and bear spray.

A man and a woman were confronted by two men while getting out of their car in the Adelaide Avenue and Park Road area around nine p,m. The two men tried to taser the couple, but missed. The men then doused them with bear spray, police say.

During the altercation, the male victim retaliated by stabbing one of the suspects, according to police.

The two men then ran from the scene. Police found one of them in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries from the stab wound.

The suspect, a 27-year-old from Clarington, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. He will remain in custody until a bail hearing.

His partner is still at large.

The male victim, a 32-year-old from Oshawa, faces charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and, possession of a dangerous weapon. He has been released with conditions.
