Three injured during St. Catharines robbery; suspects on motorcycle lead OPP on high speed chase

There have been reports of an armed robbery just reported at a jewelry store in the Fairview Mall in St. Catharines before noon today (May 11).

One media site said witnesses say shots were fired at the scene.

Stephanie Sabourin, the media liaison with the Niagara Police, subsequently posted that “two people receiving medical treatment. One with injuries consistent with a shooting, another sprayed by an unknown substance. More details to follow as available.”

An update had a third injured, sprayed by an unknown substance.

The suspects have been described as two males, one with a gym bag and that the pair fled on a motorcycle.

They were last seen on the Toronto-bound QEW near near Jordan Road doing excess of 140km/h. Subsequent reports had the OPP Highway Division close behind them near the Vineland scales.
