Gunmen hunted by police after youth shot in Mississauga

A young person was shot near a north Mississauga high school this afternoon (April 5) and police are now hunting for the gunmen.
Peel Regional Police say the extent of the person’s injuries are not yet known as he was still being attended to by paramedics in the wake of the shooting, which took place just after 3 p.m. near St. Joseph Secondary School, south of Creditview and Britannia Rds.
The shooters fled the area. Police don’t yet have descriptions of the culprits, nor are they saying what they believe the motive to be.
There are no reports at this point suggesting the victim or shooters have any connection to the high school.
Update: Police reported just after 4:30 p.m. that the victim is in critical condition at hospital. Around 8:30, they added that the victim is a young person who is in “serious but stable condition.”
