Two gamers robbed at Pickering Town Centre parking lot at gunpoint

Police are looking for two suspects after two victims were robbed at gunpoint of gaming systems they were attempting to sell online in Pickering.
The victims reported a gunpoint robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Pickering Town Centre on Kingston Road Thursday evening. They had had arranged to meet the suspect through a social media app to sell him four PlayStation 5 game consoles. During the transaction, the suspect’s accomplice, who was a passenger of a grey Nissan Altima, brandished a handgun and threatened the victims before they drove off westbound with the merchandise.
Police checked the area with negative results.
The gunman was described as Black, 6’4″ and 20 to 30 years of age. He was wearing a black bubble jacket, grey pants and a cloth mask. There was no suspect descriptor for the driver of the suspect vehicle.
Police are reminding residents to take precautions when selling items on any online platform. It’s best to meet during the day in a public place away from your residence and bring along someone with you. Don’t accept partial payment or anything other than cash and don’t hand over the item until you have the cash from the buyer.
