Police are still searching for two men after purchases were made with counterfeit currency at retail outlets in Bowmanville and Whitby earlier this year.
On Thursday, February 12 a man visited the SportChek location on Highway 2 in Bowmanville and purchased items using fraudulent currency.
On Wednesday, March 18 police say the same male visited a Winners outlet on Victoria Street in Whitby and again bought items using fake cash. The same day the suspect, along with a second man, visited the Winners on Kingston Road in Pickering and returned the purchases for legitimate currency.
The first suspect is described as brown, 20-25 years-old with long black hair and a black moustache with goatee. He was wearing a black hat, North Face coat, ripped jeans and white/black sneakers
The second suspect is described as Black, also 20-25 years-old, with dark-coloured dreads. He was wearing eye glasses, a black coat, blue hoodie and dark pants.
