Two firefighters in St Catharines honoured for service

Just one week after St Catharines firefighters struggled with the biggest blaze in recent memory, the days-long battle to subdue the fire at Welland Hotel House, two of their own are being honoured.
Granted, it has little to do with the fire and much more to do with their long service records.
Erv Bergen and Dave Brown were both recently honoured with Fire Services Medals, “recognizing length of service milestone achievements in their courageous and dedicated service to the community.”
Bergen has hit the Fifth-Century mark having served 20 years while Brown collected the Quarter-Century mark with his 25 years of service.
