Two deaths recorded, 23 new cases of COVID-19 today in Halton Region

Halton Region has reported two deaths as a result of COVID-19 and 23 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Numbers just released indicate the deaths occurred in Burlington at the Village of Tansley Woods retirement home. That brings the number to three deaths in the region during the past week. Since the pandemic broke out in March, 33 people have died in Halton.

Other numbers released today (Oct. 27) show Halton is currently dealing with 226 active cases.

Of the new cases since yesterday, 12 are in Oakville, six in Burlington, four in Milton and one in Halton Hills.

Over the past five days Halton Region is averaging just above 24 new cases each day.

Numbers across Ontario today stand at 827 new cases. The areas that have the most new cases are Toronto with 355, Peel Region 169, York Region 89 and Ottawa with 58. Hamilton is reporting seven new cases.
