Two dead in crash between motorcycles and pickup truck in Caledon

Police are investigating after two people were killed in Caledon following a crash between two motorcycles and a pickup truck.

Just after 9:00 p.m. on Thursday (May 11) the OPP says officers from the Caledon detachment were called to a stretch of Highway 9 near Mount Wolfe Rd.

Police say a pickup truck and two motorcycles were involved in the three-vehicle collision and a 51-year-old from Shelburne was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 52-year-old female driver from Orangeville was also injured in the crash and airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police closed Highway 9 between Mount Wolfe Rd. and the Caledon-King Townline for several hours while   OPP investigators and collision reconstructionists were on the scene.

Police are still investigating the crash and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the incident to contact Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
