Two children stabbed in Mississauga and taken to trauma centre

Two young people were sent to hospital following a stabbing in Mississauga.

Two stabbing victims we taken to a trauma centre, Peel Regional Police said in a tweet today (July 7).

UPDATE: A suspect is in police custody.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. in the Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Ave. W. area. One resident noted a large police presence behind the Dollarama in the Erin Mills Town Centre area.

Police tapped off part of the parking lot at Erin Mills Town Centre.

Peel Paramedics say that the two boys are in critical condition.

Police are searching for a male suspect described as South Asian, between 15 to 17 years old. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants.

Police say more information is to come.

UPDATE: One young male victim is in critical condition and the other is stable condition.
