Two charged with attempted murder after shooting in Caledon

Two people are charged with attempted murder and other offences after a recent shooting in Caledon.

At about 4:19 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, OPP officers responded to a shooting on Caledon’s Old School Road.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation led police to arrest two people the same day.

Adnan Jajja, 39, of Surrey BC is charged with attempting to commit murder using a firearm, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Navjot Singh, 25, also from Surrey BC, is charged with attempting to commit murder using a firearm and assault with a weapon.

Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

“It was determined that there were no threats to public safety,” said police.

The shooting was investigated by the Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit, the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit, OPP’s Forensic Identification Services, Central Region Canine, and the Emergency Response Team.

The investigation is ongoing.
