Two charged in firearm offences following a cannabis investigation in Brampton

Peel Regional Police have charged a man and woman – both from Brampton with several firearm offences following a Cannabis Act investigation last night.

On Sunday (May. 21) shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers were on duty searching a vehicle with a man and woman inside, under the Cannabis Act— in the area of Queen St E/ Bramalea Rd, Brampton.

During the investigation, police say a loaded .45-caliber Glock firearm was located and seized.

As a result, police have charged , 27-year-old Jonathan Lodge from Brampton with several firearm offences including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, tampering with the serial number of a firearm and failure to comply with a release order.

31-year-old Delisha Lodge from Brampton was also charged with similar offences as Jonathan Lodge as well as having the knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm and having care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.

Both the suspects have appeared at a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Monday, May 22, 2023.
