Two charged after traffic stop turns up pistol in Mississauga

Two men are charged after a traffic stop in Mississauga led to the discovery of a loaded pistol.

Peel Regional Police said their officers investigated a car near Cawthra Rd and Dundas St in the city’s east side shortly before 4 a.m. on Mar. 5.

During the investigation, police claim to have found a loaded pistol and an unspecified amount of cannabis.

As a result, Cody John, 21 of Cambridge, and Ishi John, 18 of Toronto were both charged with five gun offences. Cody John was also charged with driving with cannabis available.

Both men remained in custody until a bail hearing in the Brampton courthouse.
