Two busy QEW lanes and on-ramps will shut down to traffic in Mississauga

Two lanes and a pair of on-ramps on a busy part of the QEW in Mississauga will shut down to traffic tonight/overnight (May 18) as crews continue work on the highway bridge over the Credit River.
Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project overseeing the major bridge rehabilitation work say two westbound lanes between Hurontario St. and Mississauga Rd. will close on Thursday night (May 18) between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Friday morning (one of the lanes will close starting at 11 p.m.).
Also, QEW westbound on-ramps from both northbound and southbound Hurontario St. will close down to traffic from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Friday morning.
Project leaders say the closures will allow for pavement marking and traffic shift work to be completed.
Meanwhile, South Sheridan Way, between the QEW eastbound off-ramp and Indian Grove Rd., will see one lane closed to traffic between May 23 and 25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings.
The lane closure will allow for ongoing work related to the rehabilitation of the bridge.

Additionally, Premium Way, between Stavebank Rd. and Lynchmere Ave., will be down to one lane on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through June 30, project leaders say.
Also, four lanes of the QEW in the heart of Mississauga will continue to shut down each night/overnight through the end of May.
Two eastbound and two westbound lanes between Erin Mills Pkwy. and Hurontario St. will be closed at various times in the late evening and overnight hours each night through May 27, with the exception of May 19.
The lanes will stay open on Friday, May 19 leading into the Victoria Day weekend.
Temporary nighttime/overnight closures have been commonplace since last fall both on the QEW and nearby roads due to the massive project that began some two years ago.
More traffic disruptions are anticipated as work proceeds in the coming months. Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
