A pair of Brampton residents are both $100,000 richer thanks to recent lottery wins.

Justine Chevarie, a 33-year-old Brampton warehouse worker, won $100,000 in the December 23 Lotto 6/49 Super Draw.

Chevarie said she is a regular lottery player and always plays numbers that are significant family dates. She checked her ticket using the OLG Lottery App on Christmas Eve when she discovered her big win.

“I couldn’t believe it. I thought the app was broken so I reset my phone and checked again. I was so overwhelmed I dropped my phone!”

She plans to pay some bills and go back to school for photography and business.

“I want to start a new life doing what I love and working for myself,” she smiled. “I now have the means to turn my hobby into a career.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Convenience Access on Williams Parkway in Brampton.

Maria Gaspar, 73, matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the January 8, Lotto Max draw to win $100,000.

“I play many different games,” said Gaspar, who plays the lottery on a weekly basis. “I enjoy Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Poker Lotto, Lightning Lotto and Lottario. The cashier told me I was a big winner and I was thrilled!”

She told her husband and son about her big win. “Both are delighted by this news.”

Gaspar has no plans for her windfall yet. The winning ticket was purchased at Conestoga Convenience on Bovaird Drive.
