Two Brampton men facing charges after police seize drugs and firearm

Police have arrested and charged two people for firearm and drug possession offences in Brampton.
On Friday, May 22, investigators conducted a search warrant at a residence in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Bramalea Road.
“As a result, a loaded .380 Colt firearm, a quantity of Canadian currency as well as a quantity of cocaine, heroin and MDMA were located with the residence,” police said.
22 year old Brampton man Derick Asiedu was charged with:
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
26 year old Brampton man Peter Ashu-Achare was charged with:
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
Both men were held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday.
