Two Brampton men charged in relation to attempted carjacking

Investigators from Central Robbery Bureau have charged two men in relation to an attempted carjacking in Brampton.

Police say on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at approximately 1:50 p.m., the victim parked his vehicle at a gas station in the area of Mississauga Road and Steeles Avenue in Brampton.

When out of his truck, the victim was confronted by the accused parties, one armed with a knife, according to police.

Police say they made a demand for his keys and a struggle ensued.

They were not successful in obtaining the truck keys and fled on foot, according to police.

Police say there were no physical injuries sustained by the victim.

At 2:20 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, uniform patrol officers from 22 Division located the suspects nearby in a commercial business where officers arrested them, according to police.

Manjot Singh, a 25-year-old man from Brampton and Shivam Miglani, a 20-year-old man from Brampton, were both charged with robbery, police say. 

They were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice.
