Two Brampton men arrested, charged in Niagara Region drug investigation

Niagara Regional Police Services have arrested and charged two Brampton men in connection to a drug trafficking investigation in St. Catharines and Thorold.

According to police, the investigation was launched in May 2022 and on Tuesday (June 21), detectives arrested two suspects following a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle in Niagara Falls.

During the stop, a search of the car uncovered two loaded handguns and a stash of fentanyl and cocaine. Both suspects were arrested at the scene.

Detectives then executed a search warrant at a hotel room in Niagara Falls where even more cocaine and fentanyl were uncovered and seized.

In total, police estimate the value of the drugs seized to be approximately $40,000.

Arrested and charged are 19-year-old Joshua Clottey and 19-year-old Thshane Edwards of Brampton.

Both are facing a long list of drugs and weapons charges and both are currently being held at the Niagara Detention Centre.
