Two men are in custody after a gun was discovered in their car during a traffic stop.

Peel Regional Police officers pulled the pair over shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Jan 28 near Central Park Dr. and Grenoble Blvd in Brampton. The area is a t-intersection in a neighbourhood of detached homes. Though the officer pulled the car over for a Highway Traffic Act violation, a search of the vehicle turned up a loaded pistol.

The two men are Justin Nwankwo, 21 of Niagara Falls, and Josiah Molina, 21 of Brampton. Nwankwo faces six firearms charges and Molina faces five. Both men remain in custody pending a bail hearing in Brampton.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 2133 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at  1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
