Twenty-nine new COVID-19 cases in Durham Region; Ajax and Oshawa with nine each

There were 29 new COVID-19 cases reported in Durham Region, up two from the previous day.

There are now 125 active cases of the virus in Durham, with five people in hospital and one patient from Oshawa still in intensive care.

Ajax and Oshawa comprised two-thirds of all new cases with nine each.

The number of Delta variant cases remains at 225, with 11 active, which is unchanged from Tuesday’s numbers.

The percentage of fully vaccinated 12-plus residents is now at 73.5. Oshawa’s vaccinated numbers are the lowest in the Region but have nearly reached the 70 cent mark with 69.5 per cent of its 12-and-over population now fully vaccinated.
