Twelve year-old Pickering boy caught with knife and brass knuckles up on robbery charges

A 12-year-old boy is facing charges after he attempted to stab a man in Pickering Tuesday evening, one day after allegedly pulling a knife on another man in a robbery attempt near Pickering Town Centre.

Police say the boy, a Pickering resident, pulled a knife in an altercation near Kingston Road and Liverpool Road just after seven p.m. Tuesday. The suspect was taken into custody where the knife and a pair of brass knuckles were discovered.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The previous day the same boy used a knife to try to steal a computer near The Esplanade and Glenanna Road, police say. Security intervened at the time and the suspect fled the scene. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

The youth is charged with assault with a weapon, carrying concealed weapons, possession of  dangerous weapons and robbery.
