If a television production crews on every corner and a lobster festival happening in the middle of town seemed a little out of the ordinary for Port Perry residents, not to worry, you haven’t been ‘seeing things.’

It’s a little Hollywood magic and make-believe, courtesy of NE Way Home Productions and the primetime TV series The Way Home.

The show, which follows the lives of three generations of women in a heartfelt family drama (with a twist of time travel) within the Landry family of fictional Port Haven, set up shop in Port Perry Tuesday and wraps up filming tonight.

Crews were in Port Perry earlier in the summer as well and filming on The Way Homewas also done in downtown Uxbridge recently.

Production crews filmed interior and exterior scenes at 139 Queen Street, with prep on Tuesday, filming Wednesday and the wrap today. Vehicles and various pieces of film equipment were also spotted at Latcham Center Lot (121 Queen Street), Scugog Lot 5 (204 Water Street); Scugog Lot 8 (15 Old Rail Line); and the east side of Water Street between Queen and North streets.

There was also a lobster festival tent set up in Palmers Park Tuesday (which may have confused Lake Scugog anglers), as well as ‘atmosphere’ shots filmed at Point Café and various private property locations.

During filming there was some intermittent traffic stoppages at the intersection of Queen Street and Water Street but all business on Queen remained open to the public.

Filming wraps up tonight at 7 p.m.
