TTC to increase Line 2 service

The Toronto Transit Commission says it will boost service on one of its major subway lines to pre-pandemic levels starting Sunday in anticipation of more people returning to office this fall.

The TTC says Line 2 will have six more trains during the morning rush period arriving every two and a half minutes.

The transit agency says some bus routes will also have increased service starting this month.

TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali says with more people returning to in-office work this fall, the transit agency is looking to meet demand “by adding capacity in the right places at the right times.”

Lali says the changes are the first of several service increases planned for this fall.

It comes after Metrolinx announced plans to add new rush hour trips to the GO network starting Oct. 27, including increased service along the Lakeshore East and West lines.
