Hydro pole struck by truck west of Port Perry

A collision between a transport truck and a low-hanging wire of a hydro pole west of Port Perry Monday afternoon impacted hydro service and briefly closed the road between Scugog Line 6 and Highway 7A.

Scugog Fire reported the collision involving a transport truck and a hydro pole, which brought out Hydro One crews to make repairs “as quickly and safely as possible.”

Visitors to the Scugog Fire Facebook post said the hydro pole wire had been hanging too low for some time.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

Emergency workers and police were advising motorists to avoid the area, obey all road closures, and use alternate routes while emergency crews and utility workers complete their work.
