UPDATE: Truck hits Hamilton overpass, stretch of Lincoln Alexander Parkway closed

A stretch of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton is closed after a commercial truck carrying a boom lift struck the Upper Sherman overpass while travelling eastbound Monday morning.
The City of Hamilton says the damage to the overpass “was minimal” and that portion of Upper Sherman has been re-opened.
(Update: All lanes re-opened at around 6:45 p.m. on Monday.)

However, the eastbound lanes on the Linc remain closed between Upper Wentworth and Upper Gage as crews continue to clean up the debris left by the truck.
“Motorists travelling along the eastbound Linc should expect delays and are advised to take an alternate route for their evening commute,” said a city spokesperson.
