Truck and trailer travelling on Highway 401 on its rims stopped in Whitby

Multiple reports came into OPP detachments in Toronto and Whitby this morning about a pick-up truck and trailer travelling at highway speeds on the 401 on its rims.

The truck, which was filled with what appears to be household possessions or possibly junk, was spotted in the eastbound express lanes approaching Warden Avenue, with witnesses telling police the vehicle had lost the rubber from both the truck and the flatbed trailer.

The driver was finally stopped in Whitby and given a three-day suspension. The vehicle was towed.

Responses on social media from the incident ranged from “I have seen it all now” to “I have no words.”
