‘Tropical vibes only’ promised at downtown Hamilton café opening on Saturday

Some sunny vibes are coming to the side of King Street that gets the shade in the afternoon.

Panama Café, which offers an array of grab-and-go snacks, Central American cuisine, coffee and desserts, will have its grand opening in Hamilton on Saturday (May 14). The café is at 218 King St. E., between Walnut Street and Ferguson Avenue. The doors are slated to be open from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The menu includes empanadas and chicken-and-rice dishes. On the sweeter side, Panama Café sells smoothies and tropical sorbet.

An Instagram post indicated that the grand opening will be at 11 a.m. on May 14. But Panama Café is planning to keep hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. six days a week, while being closed on Sunday.
