Trio sought in Hamilton armed robbery

Police in Hamilton have released images of three suspects who are wanted in relation to an armed robbery at a downtown convenience store six weeks ago.

The Hamilton Police Services says three suspects entered the store at 2:33 a.m. on Thursday, March 24. Two of them went to the counter, approached the clerk and demanded cash. One suspect was armed with a knife, and another with a machete. They obtained an unknown amount of cash and fled the store on foot. They were last seen running westbound on Main Street West.

No physical injuries were sustained during this incident.

The first suspect (left photo, top) is described as follows:

  • A man who is between five-foot-eight and five-foot-10 in height, around 180 to 190 pounds with a medium build.
  • Wearing a black- or dark grey-coloured zip-up hooded jacket with side pockets, blue jeans and black-and-white Nike flipflops
  • Using a red-and-white bandana to cover his face
  • Also wearing a blue latex glove on his right hand, which was holding a silver-coloured knife
  • Also wearing a red-and-black glove on his left hand

The second suspect (middle photo, top) is described as follows:

  • A white man who is between five-foot-eight and five-foot-10 in height, around 185-195 pounds with a medium build.
  • Wearing a maroon zip-up jacket with a hood that appeared to have a red liner and side pockets, with dark green  track pants with a white Nike logo on the left leg, and white running shoes.
  • Using a black-and-white bandana to cover his face
  • Also holding a machete in his right hand that had a yellow handle

The third suspect (right photo, top) is described as follows

  • A man with a light beard who is between five-foot-eight and five-foot-10 in height, and around 175-185 pounds with a medium build
  • Wearing a black Under Armour toque with a white logo
  • Also wearing a black or dark blue sweater; black pants; a black mask; and black Nike low-cut shoes
  • Holding a cell phone in his left hand that had a white cell phone case
