Trent support staff at Peterborough and Oshawa campuses reach tentative agreement on new deal

Support staff at Trent University’s Peterborough and Oshawa campuses have avoided a possible strike after negotiating teams for the school and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (Local 365) reached a tentative settlement on a new collective agreement.

Both teams have agreed to recommend the tentative settlement to their respective parties. OPSEU/SEFPO, which represents administration, buildings and services, computing, library, scientific and secretarial staff at Trent, will provide members information regarding a meeting to ratify the agreement. The settlement is also subject to ratification by the University’s Board of Governors.

Details of the tentative agreement have not yet been released and will be unveiled through joint communiques after ratification.

OPSEU represents more than 450 employees at Trent University.
