One of Toronto’s most historic areas is set to be the new home for a trendy boutique food spot.

Mandy’s — popular for their fast gourmet salads — is gearing up to open its fifth Toronto location in the Distillery District.

The new space will feature custom-designed wallpaper, a selection of antique pieces, restored city lamp posts, 30-foot high ceilings, and a gallery wall of paintings — and that’s just what’s inside the 1,900-sq-ft location.

The new opening also marks a first-time achievement for the franchise, as the Mandy’s design team has customized lighting installations in collaboration with Stray Dog Designs, all paired with Tom Dixon fixtures anchored throughout the sprawling interior.

The exterior will also feature a huge 15-set patio, just in time for the spring breeze and upcoming summer.

Coming a long way from its humble beginnings (starting as a pop-up salad bar in Montreal), Mandy’s has now expanded nationwide, with 15 brick-and-mortar locations in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

In terms of fare, Mandy’s has become an established fixture for salads, smoothies, and healthy sweets.

Popular menu items include their hoisin duck salad, peanut satay salad, and slammin’ salmon salad.

As for smoothies, major winners include the ‘Berry Açaí,’ with açai, mango, strawberries, banana, almond butter, blueberries, and almond milk; the ‘Cookie Monster,’ with banana, dates, cacao, almond milk, almond butter, hemp hearts, and chocolate chip cookie chunks; and finally, the ‘Cherry D’amour,’ with banana, cherry, almond butter, and vanilla almond milk.

Apart from salads and smoothies, Mandy’s also has some knockout soups for those rainy spring days.

To mark the occasion, sisters Mandy and Rebecca Wolfe (founders of Mandy’s) will open the new Distillery District location at the end of the month, celebrating what is sure to be a go-to spot for power lunches and coffee dates on weekends.

The new Mandy’s is set to open on May 1, 2026, at 359 Front St E, and will open in tandem with their new spring menu, promising an expertly crafted selection of seasonal flavours.
