Travel plans on the horizon after a $250,000 instant lottery win for a Brampton woman

A Brampton woman plans to do a bit of travelling and pay bills after an instant lottery win.

Gurbax Dhaddy of Brampton won $250,000 on an Instant Bonus Money lottery ticket, according to a press release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Dhaddy, a wife and mother, said she is an occasional lottery player and enjoys playing instant ticket games. She won $100 on an instant ticket and used some of her winnings to purchase the big winning ticket.

“I played my ticket while in the store waiting for the food I ordered for my family,” she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

Dhaddy saw she won and couldn’t believe it.

“I never expected to win like that. I told my family, and they didn’t believe me – they still don’t believe me,” she laughed.

She plans to save her winnings and invest for the future and retirement.

“I will pay a few bills and enjoy a little bit of travel. My heart feels full today,” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hasty Market on Wexford Road on Brampton.
