A weather advisory is in effect for northern Durham Region with snow squalls and near zero visibility conditions developing in the Uxbridge and Beaverton areas.

Heavy and blowing snow with accumulations of five centimetres are happening now through Sunday morning with very strong southwesterly winds.

Environment Canada is warning that travel is not recommended. Visibility will be suddenly reduced as snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.
