Trailer thefts in Muskoka leads to charge for Brampton man

An investigation into a string of stolen trailers has ended in dozens of combined charges for a Brampton man and three people from Gravenhurst.

The OPP says officers with the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit have been looking into several trailers reported stolen throughout Muskoka and Central Ontario.

Police say officers from multiple jurisdictions including Caledon, Barrie and the Orillia served two search warrants in Brampton and Gravenhurst on Wednesday (March 22) and charges were laid against four people.

George Hucal, 60, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime

Glenn Tonna, 60, of Gravenhurst has been charged with:

  • Theft Over $5,000 – 11 counts
  • Break and Enter
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – three counts
  • Possession of Break in Instruments
  • Mischief Under $5,000- four counts
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident

Brandon Tonna,34, of Gravenhurst has been charged with:

  • Theft Over $5,000 – four counts
  • Break and Enter
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime- three counts
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Kerri Anderson, 39, of Gravenhurst has been charged with:

  • Theft Over $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – two counts

Police say the accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 25 to answer to their charges. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
