Music and art lovers will have plenty to look forward to this summer with a fresh slate of theatre, concerts, comedy and more coming to Brampton.

From Canadian classic rock icons and Juno Award winners to a line-up of local festivals, the upcoming Brampton On Stage summer and fall season is loaded with arts and entertainment events across a wide range of genres.

Homegrown talent was a focus for the city’s arts organization in 2024 as Brampton celebrates its 50th anniversary with three Brampton artists taking the stage – Juno Award-winning reggae artist Kirk Diamond, Brampton Arts Walk of Fame recipient Scott Thompson, and Grammy Award-Winning Larnell Lewis.

“We are thrilled to unveil the Summer/Fall 2024 lineup for Brampton On Stage, showcasing our city’s vibrant arts scene during this landmark 50th anniversary,” Mayor Patrick Brown said in a statement. “We invite residents and visitors alike to experience the magic of live performances.”

As for touring acts, shows include The Poets: A Tragically Hip Tribute in partnership with the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund, and Ontario’s own Glass Tiger known for their hit “Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone),” among others.

Throughout July and August, Brampton On Stage will hold free outdoor programming in Garden Square, including an East Coast Kitchen Party and Brampton’s annual country music celebration Stomp N’ Stampede featuring headliner Kalsey Kulyk.

There’s also the popular Stagedoor Stories series, which this year will host intimate conversations and performances from children’s music icons Sharon & Randi Hampson in a Sharon, Lois & Bram Sing-along, and two-time JUNO Award winner and folk superstar Valdy.

Looking ahead to the fall and winter, Brampton On Stage has even more big name Canadian acts coming to town including  Jully Black, Finger 11 and 54.40.
